So nice to hear their quilting life stories from several members last month. Don’t you think every quilt has a story too! At the 2018 Costume Designers Guild award night, Sally Fields brought a bag of memorabilia onto the stage. Shown by Sally was a quilt made by Joanna Johnston, an award winner, for Sally with fabric from each of Mary Todd Lincoln’s sweeping gowns, from the movie Lincoln.
Childcan (Childhood Cancer Research Association) has sent us a thank you. Several members were able to participate in voting in Windsor Corporate Challenge drive for funds. Childcan did not win, a Windsor group “Fight Like Mason” came in first, and will use the funds helping kids with cancer. Our help was much appreciated.
Thanks to one of our members, for her donation to Comfort Quilts, in recognition of Phene and Sandra’s help in getting her quilt finished, and in turn helped us out. Thank you. Another good story!
We have given out 32 quilts, locally, already this year; 8 of them going to children, and 11 to men. You probably won’t be surprised to hear we are very, very low on mens` quilts, again.
There is a phrase …but, who’s counting?.. Elise has been counting….75 cuddly warm preemie blankets have been sent to McMaster Neonatal Nurseries. To those who helped with this project, and had fun and great fellowship together, a great job well done.
May we all continue to quilt and share our stories.
